I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people. After years of practicing law in another state I returned home to Lima – to a city that has poured so much into me because I wanted to help people more, and I wanted to do that here. And I have spent the lasts ,1035 days (and counting) working with Mayor Berger as his Chief of Staff to make this city we all call home a better place for all of us. Together, we have made great progress, but there is still much more to do.
I am running for Mayor because I know what needs to be done. I understand the complexities of local government. I have the knowledge and experience to provide clear direction, but I am also new enough to bring fresh ideas and a new perspective.
Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my vision for how, with your help, we will build on the progress that has been made and move Lima into her next chapter. This vision will lay out my plans on how to improve public safety, accelerate our economy and expand opportunity, invest in our neighborhoods, support our education system, and transform government. The vision is more than policy statements. It is a commitment to the citizens of Lima to have the courage and the political will to make real investments towards building a better Lima for all of us – a commitment that I have lived as an attorney defending constitutional rights and advocating for justice and fair representation and as a public servant serving Lima.
As your mayor, I will center my efforts on what matters – safe streets, thriving neighborhoods, a growing economy, children positioned for success, and a responsive, transparent, and efficient government. Join me as we work to build a better Lima – For our Safety, For our Economy, For Our Neighborhoods, For our Future, and For All of Us.
